Itinerary

Day 1Dubrovnik - Mostar

Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, you will be transferred from the airport to Mostar. Arrival in the hotel. The rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2Mostar - Blagaj - Vjetrenica

Breakfast and departure for a walking tour of the city, a treasury of medieval architecture of Europe, the capital of Herzegovina, one of the martyr cities of the Balkan conflicts. A walk through the medieval street of Kujundžiluk, a street of artisans and across the old town. The visit to one of the mosques and Biščević House, a Turkish house from the 17th century. Our next station of today’s excursion is Blagaj. A walk and discovery of Tekke and its surroundings, whereabouts of Muslim dervishes, noted for their bodily movements leading to a trance. In the afternoon visit to Zavala to discover the cave Vjetrenica, the most important cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the most interesting caves of the Dinarides. Return to the hotel.

Day 3Mostar - Sarajevo - Mostar

Breakfast and departure for Sarajevo. Walking tour of the capital of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Jerusalem of Europe. Discover the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian parts of the city, the famous Baščaršija square, the Kazandžiluk Street, the City Hall and the former library Vijećnica, bridges over the River Miljacka, the old Jewish temple, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, roses of Sarajevo and the eternal Flame Memorial. Visit the Gazi Husrev bey mosque and an old Orthodox Cathedral. Visit to the Tunnel of Hope, a tunnel dug under the airport during the siege of Sarajevo that allowed the transport of people, war material and humanitarian aid. On the way back to the hotel, stop at Jablanica. Arrival in Mostar, dinner in the hotel.

Day 4Tour of Herzegovina

Today we shall explore the region of Herzegovina. Discover Pocitelj, a medieval village of oriental architecture built upon a hill overlooking the Neretva River with an art colony from 1961. Our next stop is Studenci. Discover the remarkable waterfalls of Kravica, 120 m long, where the water comes from the River Trebizat. The tour continues to Mogorjelo. Discover the remains of Villa Rustica, one of the most important monuments from Roman times in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The tour continues to Medjugorje. Discover this important pilgrimage site where Mary of Nazareth started appearing to six Herzegovinian Croats on June 24, 1981. Stop for a personal discovery. Return to the hotel.

Day 5Mostar - Split - Trogir - Neum

After breakfast, we drive to Trogir, a centre of art and culture activities. Than we continue travelling along the spectacular coast, past old fishing villages and new resorts, as far as Split. Enjoy the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a site registered in UNESCO’s List of World Cultural Heritage. In the late afternoon, travel to Neum. Check in at the hotel in Neum.

Day 6Neum – Elaphiti Islands – Dubrovnik – Cavtat

Breakfast and departure for Zaton. A cruising drive around the Elaphiti islands, visiting the island of Lopud. Leisure time. On the way back, a traditional aperitif with music. Afternoon spent in Dubrovnik, one of the most beautiful cities of the Adriatic. Discover on foot the fortified city listed on the UNESCO’s list. Pile Gate, Stradun, Gundulic Square, Dominican Monastery, Ploče Gate, Revelin Tower, the old port, tour of ramparts of Lokrum by boat. Continuing on to Budva. Check in and overnight in the hotel in Budva.

Day 7Montenegro – Kotor Bay – Budva

After breakfast, we start by exploring the beauties of Montenegro, visiting Perast, a fishermen’s village in the Kotor Bay, a fjord of great natural beauty. Boat ride to the island of Gospa od Skrpjela, visit to the church of Our Lady of the Rocks. The tour continues by visiting Kotor and with a walking tour of the old town, listed on the UNESCO’s list of world heritage; a town that was inhabited even at the times of the Illyrians. In the evening return to Budva.

Day 8Budva - Dubrovnik

Transfer to the airport of Dubrovnik.

Photos
